Maple-glazed bacon

From Burgers with maple glazed bacon, chipotle-caramelized onions and white cheddar

Maple-glazed bacon

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • ground black pepper

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and/or a grill. (The syrup will drip and get very sticky so I recommend both). Arrange bacon slices on the grill and brush maple syrup on each side. Sprinkle black pepper evenly on both sides.

Cook in oven for 10-15 minutes, keeping a close eye on the bacon. You don’t want it to burn and with the maple syrup it can easily do so. For thicker slices, it may need more time.

Once crisped to your liking, remove from oven and serve.
