Cuban White Rice (Arroz Blanco)
From Beans and rice…it’s very nice!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, smashed
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large saucepan, heat the oil with the garlic over medium heat and cook about 2 minutes, then discard the garlic. Add the water, rice and salt to the saucepan and bring to a boil. Cover and cook in oven for 30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from oven and let it rest 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve with Frijoles Negros.
