Bulgogi beef

From Korean tacos

Korean tacos

  • 1 lb thinly sliced rib eye or flank steak

  • ½ cup pear, peeled and grated
  • ¼ cup onion, grated
  • ½ medium carrot, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 sliced green onion
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (this is not traditionally in bulgogi but I love the stuff)
  • a pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 green onions, sliced diagonally
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

Mix up the marinade and place in a large ziplock bag. Add the beef and marinate in the fridge overnight.

Grill or pan fry the beef in batches until it is just cooked (try not to overcook!). Top with green onions and sesame seeds.
