Canada vs. Sweden: a breakfast sandwich

Today was a good day, and that’s saying something because it’s not even 3:00 pm yet.

Canada vs. Sweden

We woke at the crack of dawn to watch our Canadian olympic men’s hockey team win a gold medal.

…Again. Just sayin’

Sweden breakfast sandwiches

In celebration of our national sport, and in keeping with my Canada vs. Finland post, I thought it would be prudent to have breakfast sandwiches from both sides of the rink.

Sweden

Open faced sandwiches with gravlax, eggs and caviar. And don’t forget the mimosas!

Sweden

The Canadian contingent needed something more substantial.

Peameal bacon

Something to soak up the early morning Caesars we were imbibing.

Canadian breakfast sandwiches

Maple caramelized onions, peameal (aka Canadian) bacon and a soft egg yolk served the purpose just fine.

Canadian breakfast sandwiches

After all was said and done, our team laden with gold medals, it was time for a late morning nap. Oh, Canada! Here’s to another four years of gold!
