Buffalo chicken wing perogies

Drumroll please!

Chicken wing perogies

I guarantee you have never had a perogy like this. Carbs on top of carbs on top of…fried chicken?

Frank's red hot

It is the carb addict’s dream. Or nightmare, depending on how you look at it.

Preparing to fry the chicken

Cheesler has established himself as my “ideas man”. He comes up with the inspiration and I figure out the execution.

Frying the chicken

He has come up with such culinary genius as the pork chop pizza, and something I have not yet blogged about – spaghetti burritos. Sounds crazy, huh? Just you wait.

Fried chicken pieces

He did not fail me this time when I asked him for a suggestion for a wacky perogy filling.

Perogy dough

Now, I should clarify that the fried chicken “wings” inside the perogy are boneless. Before you go making them with real chicken wings and choking someone. That would just not do.

Blue cheese

The combination of Frank’s red hot, blue cheese and fried chicken, complete with tiny little celery and carrots sticks, made these little packets of delight surprisingly close to the real thing.

The inner perogy

Now, usually you can either boil or fry a perogy. In this case, I would not suggest boiling. You want a nice crispy fried outer shell to enhance the crunch factor that you would usually get from a chicken wing.

And you could also serve this with a blue cheese dip, depending on your tolerance. Personally, I like a little bit of blue cheese, but not so much that it overpowers everything else.

And there is just the perfect amount inside this perogy. I guess you could also dip the whole thing into some more Frank’s Red Hot too! After all, you’re the boss!

Here’s the recipe!
